Boat Restoration & Repair MN
The 2013 boating season is here! Is your boat ready? A few weeks into the traditional boating season, many Minnesotans are already busy gearing up and preparing their watercrafts for trips to the water. Boating is one of the primary reasons people love Minnesota.
But along with the pleasure aspect comes responsibility. As always, the authorities are cautioning everyone to observe safe boating practices to avoid a collision while you’re out on the lakes.
No matter what type of boat you operate, there are basic safety precautions you must take. Your safety checks and preparations need to begin before you even launch your boat. In fact, you should start your boating preparations before you even arrive at the marina or hitch your trailer.
National Safe Boating Week 2013
National Safe Boating Week May 18-May 24, 2013. National Safe Boating Week is celebrated all over the United States and Canada in an effort to promote boating safety in all waters.
National Safe Boating Week is an opportunity to highlight the importance of safety precautions and sensible behavior when spending time on the water, including wearing a life jacket, not boating under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and being aware of other general boating safety practices.
Summer is coming! With it comes the opening of boating season, and boaters everywhere are doing their spring commissioning.
As more recreational vessels compete for space on U.S. waterways, it becomes imperative that recreational boaters stay alert, prepared, and respectful. The following resources, courtesy of ASN members, are of value to any captain—those just getting started and those with years at the helm.
